STOMPer Low said this taxi ended up lying on its side because the driver was trying to avoid hitting a cyclist who was dashing across a pedestrian crossing.

"He was trying to avoid a woman cyclist on a green bike dashing across the pedestrian crossing even though the lights were in his favour," Low said in an email.

The STOMPer said the accident happened in Pasir Ris Drive, just outside the fishing pond, at about 9am today (3 Dec).

"Within four minutes, police and ambulance arrived. By 9.15am the road was cleared and normal traffic resumed," Low said.

STOMP contacted the Police, which said it received a call about the accident along Pasir Ris Drive 1 at about 8.55am.

"A taxi had skidded. The driver complained of chest pains and was sent to Changi General Hospital," a spokesman said.
