STOMPer Denis Wu, 24, was on the bus turning into Bukit Purmei Avenue at about 5.30pm yesterday (20 Nov) when he suddenly heard a loud bang.
"A taxi and a van had collided and thick smoke was seen coming out from the van. The traffic was in a mess as visibility was low," he said in an email last night (20 Nov).
"The van had flipped to its side and there was a lot of smoke, making it hard to see clearly," he said.
The STOMPer, who lives in the area, said he was spared the jam as traffic in his direction was clear.
"The jam was still there when I left my flat about 7pm to go somewhere," he told STOMP.

STOMP contacted the Police, which said the accident happened at about 5.30pm at the junction of Lower Delta Road and Bukit Purmei Road, between a van and a taxi.
"The taxi passenger was sent to Alexandra Hospital, while the van driver and van passenger were sent to Singapore General Hospital," a spokesman said.
