Enforcement along Orchard Road
We had been informed by Land Transport authority that taxis had been queuing beyond taxi stands along Orchard Road. Their Enforcement Officers had in the past few months been quite lenient on their enforcement action, taxis found queuing beyond taxi stand were advised to leave the queue but they had noted that the situation did not improve.
The Land Transport Authority had indicated that to ensure the smooth flow for buses along the bus lanes, they will start to issue Notice of Offence to taxi drivers who queue beyond the taxi stands along Orchard Road from 2 April 09 onwards.
We urge all cabbies to observe and abide by the rules when you queue along Orchard Road Taxi Stand, so that you will not be booked by Land Transport Authority Officer.
Closure of Chatsworth Road
This is to inform you that the taxi stand along Chatsworth Road outside the Indonesian Embassy will be closed from 8am to 3pm on 9 Apr 09 due to an event organised by the embassy.
Traffic along this road will also be expected to be slow road during the festivity and traffic wardens may be deployed to control the traffic situation. A temporary taxi stand will be set up further down the road close to the round-about leading to Chatsworth Ave during the closure of
the original taxi stand.
